a fool follows the moon
to school. an owl hoots.
the wool snood the fool
hoods o'er her head
colors her aloof. solo.

alone, totes a broom
to the roof and is woozy
from a look down. she spooks
at zoos. now the rooks
flood her, and good. the broom's

no use. she spoons the soup
of hitchcock. spooled, she is
loosened, unhooked, doomed.
they loot her face for eyes. the orbits
ooze. black with blood, she droops.

who looks for a fool
to drown in birds? whose
horror shown here?
no one's. the fool's.
